  • Popular picks win only at volume. Oxylabs charges $6 and IPRoyal $7 per GB on small buys, above Bright Data’s $4 promo. Both beat its $8 list price.
  • The real savings sit at the low end. DataImpulse lists $1 per GB and Evomi $0.49, cuts of 75% and 88% against Bright Data’s current pay-as-you-go price.
  • You trade pool size for price. Bright Data claims 400M+ IPs and free ZIP targeting. These alternatives list 12M+ to 175M+, and DataImpulse charges extra below country level.

What is a Bright Data alternative, and which one fits your job?

It’s a proxy provider you can move your Bright Data traffic to, usually to pay less per gigabyte. Residential proxies (IPs from real home devices) are where the gap is widest. The best-for map: DataImpulse overall, Evomi for the lowest price, Decodo for beginners, IPRoyal for social media and Oxylabs for scraping.

Bright Data is the reference point because it sets the price ceiling. Its residential pricing page, read on October 28, 2026, lists pay as you go at $4 per GB under a 50% promo that runs for 3 months, against a list price of $8. Monthly plans start at $499 for 141 GB. The page claims 400M+ IPs in 195 countries, with country, state, city and ZIP targeting included.

Three numbers on that page explain the search for something cheaper: the $8 list price after the promo, the $499 entry point for monthly plans, and the custom quote above 1 TB. Every pick below beats Bright Data on at least one of them, and each review says what you give up. Our Bright Data review covers the provider itself.

Not every job needs residential IPs. If your targets don’t block data centers, the best datacenter proxies may be the cheaper route, and for one fixed address, see the best static proxies.

Short version: the cheapest switch is DataImpulse or Evomi; the safest first step is Decodo.

Why switch from Bright Data, and why these five picks?

Because Bright Data’s price only looks low for 3 months. After the promo, pay as you go returns to $8 per GB, and monthly plans start at $499. Each pick in the best-for map beats that on one clear number. Here’s the short case for each, before the full reviews.

  • Best overall: DataImpulse: $1 per GB, no subscription and gigabytes that never expire. It cuts a Bright Data bill by about 75% with a 90M+ IP pool.
  • Best cheap: Evomi: The underrated pick. Core Residential lists $0.49 per GB on a $49 monthly plan, 88% under Bright Data’s promo rate, with 54M+ IPs.
  • Best for beginners: Decodo: A 3 GB plan for $11.25 and a 3-day trial with 100MB. Its advertised 99.92% success is the second highest here.
  • Best for social media: IPRoyal: Sticky sessions last up to 7 days and traffic never expires. That suits accounts that must hold one IP, though 1 GB costs $7.
  • Best for scraping: Oxylabs: The largest pool here at 175M+ IPs, with 99.95% advertised success and unlimited concurrent sessions. It undercuts Bright Data’s promo only from 1,000 GB.

How do you switch from Bright Data without breaking your scraper?

Treat it as a swap of four values: host, port, username and password. Most residential providers use the same HTTP(S) proxy format, so your code barely changes. The real work is matching targeting, session length and volume tier before you cancel anything. These steps keep both providers running until the numbers agree.

  1. Check your monthly gigabytesOpen your Bright Data usage dashboard and note how many GB you used last month. That number picks the right tier at the new provider.
  2. List the targeting you useWrite down whether you target by country, city, ZIP or ASN. DataImpulse, for example, charges extra below country level, while Bright Data includes it.
  3. Start small or on a trialUse Decodo’s 3-day trial, DataImpulse’s 5 GB for $5 or Proxy-Seller’s Test plan instead of a big monthly plan on day one.
  4. Swap the proxy settingsReplace Bright Data’s host, port and login in your scraper or browser with the new provider’s values. Keep the old ones in a config file.
  5. Check the exit IP and locationLoad an IP-check page through the new proxy and confirm the address and country match what you ordered before real traffic goes through.
  6. Run both, then cancelSplit traffic between both providers for a week, compare success and cost per GB in each dashboard, then cancel the one that loses.
import requests

# Only the proxy line changes when you switch providers

r = requests.get("https://httpbin.org/ip", proxies=proxies, timeout=30)
print(r.text) # should show the new provider's exit IP
Watch traffic that expires
Proxy-Seller’s Test and Volume traffic lasts 30 days, and Decodo bills its plans monthly. DataImpulse, IPRoyal and Evomi’s pay-as-you-go data never expire, so a slow month costs nothing there.

Want to check that a new proxy is live before you wire it in? You can test your proxies with GoToProxy first.

DataImpulse is the switch most Bright Data buyers should make. Its residential page lists $1 per GB with no subscription, against Bright Data’s $4 promo rate and $8 list price. Unused gigabytes never expire, and the pool is 90M+ IPs in 195+ countries. You give up pace: about 1 second per response, as advertised.

Switch if your bill is mostly gigabytes. At $1 per GB, 100 GB costs $100 here against $400 at Bright Data’s promo rate, or $800 at its list price. New customers can start with the Intro plan, 5 GB for $5, paid once. The Advanced plan drops the rate to $0.80 per GB at $800 for 1 TB.

What you give up is precision and speed. Country targeting is free, but the comparison table lists city, ASN and ZIP targeting at extra cost, while Bright Data includes ZIP targeting. The page advertises about 1 second per response and a 99.51% success rate. Bright Data claims 400M+ IPs; DataImpulse lists 90M+.

Against popular opinion, a $1 pool isn’t a toy. Its 90M+ IPs top what IPRoyal, Evomi and Proxy-Seller advertise. The page lists HTTP(S) and SOCKS5, 24/7 human support with a first reply usually under 3 minutes, and a 7-day refund policy. It also claims 500,000+ customers and a 4.8 G2 rating.

2. Decodo: Best for beginners

vs Bright Data

Decodo is the easiest landing for a first switch. Its smallest plan is 3 GB for $11.25, or $3.75 per GB, and the FAQ describes a 3-day free trial with 100MB. The page advertises 99.92% success and under 0.5 s response. The catch: its pay-as-you-go rate matches Bright Data’s $4 promo price.

Switch if you want to try before you commit. The 3-day trial and a 14-day money-back guarantee on eligible subscriptions lower the risk, though the guarantee doesn’t cover trial usage. Plans step down from $3.50 per GB at 10 GB to $2.75 at 100 GB. The page lists 115M+ IPs across 195+ locations.

Now the contrarian part. The headline says from $2 per GB, but that rate needs the 1,000 GB Enterprise tier. At small volume you save almost nothing against Bright Data’s promo: $3.75 against $4. The real gap opens when Bright Data’s 3-month promo ends and its $8 list price returns, or once you pass 100 GB.

What you give up against Bright Data is pool size, 115M+ against 400M+, and the first-deposit match of up to $500 that Bright Data advertises. What you gain is a smaller first bill and strong published claims: 99.99% uptime and under 0.5 s average response, both as advertised.

Key facts
  • 3 GB for $11.25 a month ($3.75 per GB)
  • Pay as you go $4 per GB, no commitment
  • 3-day trial with 100MB
  • 115M+ IPs in 195+ locations
  • 99.92% success, under 0.5 s response (advertised)
Best for
  • First-time proxy buyers
  • Teams that want a trial before paying
  • Monthly jobs of 25 to 100 GB
✓ Pros
  • Small 3 GB entry plan
  • Free trial plus 14-day money-back
  • Strong advertised speed and success
  • Clear tier prices on the page
✗ Cons
  • Pay as you go equals Bright Data’s promo rate
  • The $2 per GB rate needs 1,000 GB

Evomi is the underrated pick on price. Its Core Residential plan lists 100 GB a month for $49, which is $0.49 per GB, and pay as you go starts at $0.99 per GB with no expiry. That’s 88% under Bright Data’s promo rate. The catch: the page doesn’t publish speed, success or a country count.

Switch if your workload is big and forgiving: price monitoring, SEO checks or bulk page fetches where a retry costs little. The monthly plan bills extra gigabytes at the same $0.49. Pay as you go needs at least 15 GB and falls to $0.79 per GB from 1,000 GB. The page claims 54M+ ethically sourced residential IPs.

What you give up is evidence. The pricing page lists six popular locations but no total, and no success rate or response time. Bright Data publishes 195 countries and ZIP targeting. A separate Premium Residential pool costs $3.98 per GB pay as you go, close to Bright Data’s $4 promo, so the saving lives in Core only.

Read the trial terms. The monthly plan says free trial, then $49 a month, so it converts unless you cancel inside the trial window, and the page doesn’t state how long that window is. Refunds within 30 days are capped at 10% of your data allowance or 1 GB, whichever is smaller.

Key facts
  • Core Residential: 100 GB for $49 a month
  • Pay as you go $0.99 per GB from 15 GB
  • $0.79 per GB from 1,000 GB
  • Pay-as-you-go data never expires
  • 54M+ residential IPs in Core
Best for
  • High-volume jobs that tolerate retries
  • Buyers who want the lowest listed rate
  • Price and SEO monitoring
✓ Pros

The homepage says Premium starts from $2.20 per GB, but that is the volume rate; pay as you go is $3.98. The trial length isn’t stated anywhere on the pricing page.

4. Oxylabs: Best for scraping

175M+

Oxylabs is the closest like-for-like swap, and that’s the problem. Its page lists 175M+ IPs in 195 countries and 99.95% advertised success, but small buyers pay $6 per GB, 50% more than Bright Data’s $4 promo rate. It’s overrated because it’s sold as the cheaper option. At high volume, it earns that label.

Switch if you scrape at scale and Bright Data’s $499 monthly entry plan doesn’t fit. The Oxylabs rate falls to $5 per GB up to 20 GB, $4 up to 125 GB and $2.50 from 1,000 GB. Monthly plans start at $30 for Starter, then $100, $500 and Enterprise from $2,500. The page lists unlimited concurrent sessions.

What you give up is the small-volume saving. Bright Data’s $4 promo matches or beats every Oxylabs tier below 1,000 GB for 3 months. After that, Bright Data’s $8 list price loses to every Oxylabs tier. So the honest answer depends on timing and volume, not on reputation.

The page also lists a $5 welcome credit usable on any product, 3 proxy users and 10 whitelisted IPs, plus an average response of 0.6 s in its plan features and 0.41 s in its IP quality section. It quotes a G2 rating of 4.5 and a Proxyway score of 9.3.

Key facts
  • $6 per GB up to 5 GB, $2.50 from 1,000 GB
  • Starter plan from $30 a month

Proxy-Seller is the cheapest way to test a switch on a deadline. The Test plan lists $3.5 per GB, volume plans start at $1.45 per GB, and the page advertises about 0.35 s average response, the quickest figure here. The catch: Test and Volume traffic expire after 30 days, and the pool is 47M+ IPs.

Switch if you buy in bursts and use the traffic fast. Volume plans from $1.45 per GB sit 64% under Bright Data’s $4 promo rate, with no monthly lock-in, and you can top up anytime. Enterprise pricing starts from $0.3 per GB with a premium SLA, though the page says those rates aren’t fixed.

What you give up is shelf life and scale. Bright Data’s pay as you go has no commitment, while traffic here lasts 30 days on Test and Volume. The 47M+ pool is the smallest residential figure here apart from SOAX. The page lists 220+ locations with city and ISP targeting, but no country count.

The support terms are short too. The page offers a 24-hour refund or replacement window, unlimited concurrent sessions and 24/7 live support, and claims 185,000+ users. It lists 99.5% success and 1 Gbps throughput, both as advertised.

Key facts
  • Test plan $3.5 per GB, valid 30 days
  • Volume plans from $1.45 per GB
  • Enterprise from $0.3 per GB
  • About 0.35 s response, 99.5% success (advertised)

IPRoyal is the pick for social media accounts, not for saving money on small buys. Sticky sessions last up to 7 days and traffic never expires, which suits slow account work. But 1 GB costs $7, 75% more than Bright Data’s $4 promo rate. Against popular opinion, its $1.75 rate needs 10 TB.

Switch if you run accounts that must keep one IP for days. A sticky session (one IP held for the whole session) of up to 7 days keeps logins stable on social and marketplace accounts. Traffic that never expires means a slow month costs nothing. The page lists 64M+ IPs in 195+ countries and regions.

What you give up is a low entry rate. The page lists $7 per GB for 1 GB on subscription, $5.95 for 2 GB and $5.25 for 10 GB; pay as you go adds about 5%. The $1.75 headline needs a 10 TB custom plan. Below that, IPRoyal only beats Bright Data once the $8 list price returns.

The page also advertises 99.4% success, about 0.5 s response and 99.9% uptime, with unlimited concurrent sessions. For accounts that need carrier IPs from phones, compare it with our best mobile proxies ranking before you buy.

SOAX is the weakest Bright Data alternative here on published evidence. Its pricing builder shows $3 per GB for US traffic, 25% under Bright Data’s promo, and a free sandbox needs no card. But the page gives no starting price, and its pool of over 12 million IPs counts residential and mobile together.

Switch if you want to set up and explore before paying. The free Sandbox account needs no credit card, though using proxies needs credits or a paid plan. One credit equals $1. The builder’s example shows a 100 GB month at a $200 plan price plus $100 of extra credit, marked 40% off.

What you give up is scale and clarity. Bright Data lists 400M+ residential IPs; SOAX lists over 12 million residential and mobile IPs combined, the smallest figure here. The page names Tier 1 (United States) at $3 per GB but doesn’t list the other tiers or a smallest plan. Prices exclude VAT.

It does cover the basics: HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, 195+ countries, and an analytics API with up to 365 days of history. The page says SOAX powers over 5,000 product teams. If SOCKS5 is your main need, check our best SOCKS5 proxies list as well.

Which kind of Bright Data alternative fits you?

Four kinds of switch cover most buyers. Choose by monthly volume and by how much pool size and targeting you’re willing to give up.

💸
Budget pool
DataImpulse or Evomi at $0.49 to $1 per GB. The largest saving, with smaller pools and fewer published speed figures.
🧪
Trial-first switch
Decodo’s 3-day trial or Proxy-Seller’s Test plan. A small first bill and strong advertised speed, but little saving at low volume.
🏢
Like-for-like scale
Oxylabs with 175M+ IPs and 99.95% advertised success. Cheaper than Bright Data at high volume or once its promo ends.
⏳
Slow, steady usage
IPRoyal or DataImpulse, where traffic never expires. A quiet month costs nothing, which suits account work and side projects.

Bright Data alternatives: your questions

For most buyers, DataImpulse. Its residential page lists $1 per GB with no subscription, gigabytes that never expire and 90M+ IPs in 195+ countries. That’s 75% under Bright Data’s $4 promo rate and 88% under its $8 list price. If you’d rather start with a trial, Decodo offers 3 days with 100MB and a 3 GB plan for $11.25.
On listed prices, Evomi. Its Core Residential plan is 100 GB a month for $49, or $0.49 per GB, and pay as you go starts at $0.99 per GB from 15 GB. Proxy-Seller lists enterprise rates from $0.3 per GB, but those are custom and not fixed. DataImpulse charges $1 per GB with no monthly minimum.
Not at small volume. Oxylabs lists $6 per GB up to 5 GB, $5 up to 20 GB and $4 up to 125 GB, while Bright Data’s pay as you go is $4 under a 3-month 50% promo. Oxylabs drops to $2.50 per GB from 1,000 GB, and every Oxylabs tier beats Bright Data’s $8 list price.
Slightly, at entry. Decodo’s 3 GB plan costs $3.75 per GB against Bright Data’s $4 promo rate, and its pay-as-you-go rate is the same $4. The gap grows with volume: Decodo lists $2.75 at 100 GB and $2 at 1,000 GB. Against Bright Data’s $8 list price, every Decodo tier is cheaper.
Mainly pool size and included targeting. Bright Data claims 400M+ residential IPs in 195 countries, with country, state, city and ZIP targeting included. The largest alternative here, Oxylabs, lists 175M+. DataImpulse charges extra for city, ASN and ZIP targeting. Bright Data also advertises a first-deposit match of up to $500 for new sign-ups.
Decodo describes a 3-day trial with 100MB. Oxylabs gives a $5 welcome credit usable on any product. SOAX offers a free Sandbox account with no card, though using proxies needs credits. Evomi lists a free trial on its monthly plan but doesn’t state its length, and it converts to $49 a month unless you cancel.
In most cases, yes. You replace the host, port, username and password in your tool, and the request format stays the same. Check the extras before you switch, because session length, targeting and protocols differ. DataImpulse and SOAX list SOCKS5 as well as HTTP(S), and IPRoyal advertises sticky sessions of up to 7 days.
IPRoyal, on published features. Its residential page lists sticky sessions of up to 7 days, so an account can keep one IP for a week, and traffic never expires. The trade-off is price: 1 GB costs $7 on subscription. Read our best residential proxies ranking for more account-friendly options.
